“Beyond the Pale represents the culmination of my work using a personal palette of advanced and extended techniques resulting in the most significant expression of my artistic vision to date.The core aim of this project was to challenge and expand the boundaries of drumming as an art form, placing the drum set in a soloistic context. This pursuit led me to build my own instruments and reimagine the use of existing percussion instruments in unconventional ways.

Throughout the creative process, I dedicated myself to developing new techniques and exploring fresh ideas, driven by a desire to see how these could evolve both compositionally and sonically. Equally important was the personal journey—discovering how I, too, could grow by pushing these instruments to their limits. This process became central to how I approached composing the album, with the ultimate goal of bringing my imagination into reality.” -Arian Robinson
